I hate election times. People get crazy when you talk about politics and religion. Religion can be skipped by pretty easily, but every four years, we parade out our political views for the world to see, and of course, to disparage, malign, attack, and deride.
I classify myself as nothing, nada, zip. I’m conservative in some respects, liberal in others. For me, I take the person campaigning as a whole, and decide if I like the person as a person first. The reality of life is, you’re never going to find a candidate that you are firmly, 100% in agreement with about everything. That is, if you have actually taken the time to find out enough about that person, anyways. Some people beat the supportive drum for the person of their political party without a second thought, but for most of the rest of us, we know…we have to find a person that MOSTLY is in line with our thinking. These days, that has gotten harder to do.
As a general rule, I tend to lean more Republican. Only this year, Republican is shaping up to look like it’s going to be Donald Trump, and hey babe, that ain’t at all what I want representing me. I’ve been attacked on Facebook, saying my dislike for him means I’m either a Muslim, an illegal immigrant, or I’m living off the government. None of these things are even in slightest way, true. It would be easy to attack people attacking me except why bother? I know exactly what troubles me about this candidate, and it isn’t anything to do with any of the reasons I’m attacked with.
First up, I’m a woman. Donald Trump calls women the most derogatory names, on his shows and even those unlucky women to cross him in his real life. He has called them fat pigs, slobs, disgusting animals, bimbos, and dogs. Anyone who remembers his unsettling number of public quarrels with Rosie O’Donnell, Cher, Bette Midler, and any number of other celebrities will remember just how course and vulgar he becomes when his opinion or his ego is crossed. He has said that Hillary Clinton couldn’t be a good president because she wasn’t able to keep Bill Clinton from straying, so clearly she wouldn’t be able to satisfy America. My very favorite though is that he says every woman on his show, The Apprentice, was flirting with him, whether they knew it themselves or not.
Oh please. Just how sexist does an idiot have to be before the women alone send him packing?
Do we really want to put a man in office who has such an easy time treating an entire half of the population like mindless eye candy, drones created to appease the men around them, who don’t know their own minds well enough to know if they are flirting with someone or not, and if they displease him, will be subjected to being called bimbos, dogs, fat pigs, slobs, disgusting animals, or any number of other very vulgar, hurtful names? Donald Trump likes women only is so far as they stroke his ego, don’t insist on half his estate when he divorces them for younger women, don’t disagree with him, embarrass him, or stand up to him. He likes his women silent, beautiful, and completely submissive to himself.
No. Trump is good for no woman, and I question the morals of any man who supports him without at least disavowing the part of supporting Trump that might be offensive to the women that share America with you men. This man has an anger management problem, hates women, and most importantly, has been unable to hide those facts about himself. Don’t give him MORE power!! And ladies, this is a good ole boy system coming back after we already sent it packing. Don’t give up what others gave so much to give you.

He’s derogatory towards anyone NOT like himself, so unless you are a white rich American male with an attitude the size of the moon, he’s going to look down on you. We remember just how much of a bully he was when he owned that golf course in Scotland!
You guys CANNOT let this happen! With him as President, the rest of the world will ostracise the USA completely, believe me!

He’s a complete toad. I can’t even believe anyone is taking him seriously. Sickens me.

The REAL problem is that his rallies remind me of footage we used to watch from the Nazi rallies at Nuremberg before WWII. His rhetoric is all the same as Hitler. Truly!

I believe it. How is he going to even pretend to respect dignitaries from Muslim countries? He’s a joke. A bad, tasteless joke.

Ugh. That’s all I’ve got. Just ugh. 😦
Well, not really, Bird. (Of course. ) I’d like to bang the obvious drum here, for a minute. A good friend of mine once reminded me it’s truly not Trump that is worrisome. The fact that their are millions who stand up and clap for his bigotry, misogyny, all the things you mentioned, THAT’S worrisome.

other than bernie sanders and rand paul..everyone running (including hillary) are all there to bail out the “socialists” on wall street and to provide more tax dollars to fascist neo-cons in their manufactured “war on terror”
