It has been awhile since I actively participated in the Blogging Awards, and frankly, I have kind of missed it. It gets pretty old just talking about crappy marriages, angry ex-husbands, cyber-stalkers, bikers, or mind-bending drug addictions. Enough already!! Let’s go back to having some fun!
My fellow blogger, Stu at Something to Stu Over (the link is at the bottom of this post. WP is messing up links at the moment) nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Stu is a Christian writer and ministry leader with an edge – he has made mistakes and actually learned from them. In my book. the Christians who have fallen flat on their faces, and gotten back up, dusted off the dirt, and kept on walking forward, those are the people I want to learn from and who have my full respect. Trust me, I don’t respect easily. I love most people; respect is harder. Stu has my respect. So, I would like to thank him for nominating me for this award, and tell him, you deserved your nomination more than I did. Well done, Stu!
Here are the rules
- Thank and link the amazing person who nominated you.
- List the rules and display the award.
- Share seven facts about yourself.
- Nominate 15 other amazing blogs and comment on their posts to let them know they have been nominated.
- Optional: Proudly display the award logo on your blog and follow the blogger who nominated you.
So, I’ve already done 1, 2, and now we’re up to 3. Seven facts about myself.
A) My Myers-Brigg’s profile is INTJ – The Scientist.
B) I think personality tests are a bunch of nonsense.
C) I once joined EHarmony, and in six months, they only found two people they thought would be compatible with my personality type.
D) Both of the men they matched me up with were recent widowers and were dealing with their losses with alcohol.
E) I still wanted to date one of them, but The Scientist in me chose to end any further contact before I ended up with another Chef.
F) I’ve made $.21 from my Yahoo article about this blog.
G) I adopted a tiny kitten so the puppies would grow up not killing cats. Her name is Piper aka Little Foot. She’s super tiny!
Number 4 is to nominate 15 bloggers. Not.A.Chance.That.Was.Ever.Going.To.Happen.
Instead, I will nominate 4. That is what my attention level is capable of. Here goes!
1. Victoria Visits – http://victoriasvisits.wordpress.com/ – One of my dearest friends who has been having so much fun vacationing, she has been neglecting me.
2. I’m Just Sayin’ – http://amylou2u.blogspot.com/ – My sister-in-law who went on a cool rant today about rude Christians. I love her! Plus, after I tossed some publicity her way, her blog ended up down for days. The changes look great, though. I hope she has as much fun blogging as I do!
3. My Vegan Heart Blog – http://myveganheartblog.wordpress.com/ – Another of my dearest blog friends who has the most awesome comment fights on my site. I always end up siding with her. She’s obviously right all the time. 🙂
4. Home To Go – http://hometogo232.wordpress.com/ – Diane is my adopted mother and the calming voice of reason and hope when my life gets unmanageable. She has lived first hand some of the horrible things I just went through, and I tend to follow her advice before anyone else’s.
I hope you will check out Stu’s site, Something to Stu Over – http://stubaby777.wordpress.com/2014/07/05/nomination-for-the-very-inspiring-blog-award/.
Thanks, Stu, for remembering me!!!

Reminder to self..do not read some things while at work. I got choked up and not in a bad way. 🙂 Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words. Mine has not been an easy road…neither has yours…yet we both have learned what it takes to move forward. HOPE.
Thanks again.

Catherine… (Bird) I’m not sure if you know or not but I’ve been kind of on a ‘hiatus’ for a little bit, for a couple of reasons, (though I do pop in and out) but when I read your sweet words tonight it just gave me such a lift… thank you for thinking of me… and you know how I feel about you…. Diane

Been off on a wee holiday, glad to be reading your stuff again and happy that I’m in my own home since D) made me literally laugh out loud!!
My Myers-Briggs is INFP – The Crusader.
I think personality tests (the proper ones, not the Facebook-type ‘what sort of tropical fruit are you?’) are fairly interesting, but shouldn’t rule your life (totally). 🙂
I’ve made NO money from my Yahoo! article since I’m not a US citizen 😦
Hurt that you didn’t nominate MY blog :…..(
No, not at all! My blog is the complete OPPOSITE of inspiring, it’s heavy, questioning, probing theology and rants against entrenched evangelicals. Only award I’d expect is from some ANTI-Christian website LOL.
Really hope you get (another) award, and I’m not in the least bit jealous 😛

Lol! I almost did! But I thought you told me in the past that you didn’t like the blogging games!!! Next time, you’re going to be nominated FIRST!!

Must’ve been somebody else! While I’m not against such ‘blogging games’ (wouldn’t even see them in that way personally), I’m not out for accolades or awards, but recognition is nice. Was good to have a blog featured on Yahoo! Voices (though it’s closing at the end of the month). I’ve known my blog is a controversial one in a niche subject area, and so will not garner the same following as other blogs. I have thought of maintaining an ‘inspiring’ or ‘light’ blog, but that’s not really “my calling” (for want of a better description). I suppose if I was doing a blog for attention or awards, I wouldn’t be true to myself.
PLEASE don’t think I’m even suggesting that of your blog! You are very true to yourself, and all the blogs I follow are the same. I’ve found some VERY disingenuous ones from obvious attention-seekers or people for whom it’s just a numbers game. I’m about to unfollow a blogger who claimed to be showing ‘the truth about Islam’ but is showing his intellect to be completely skewed by hatred, unless he responds soon to my points and puts up a link I sent him that he openly asked for.
Honestly, please only nominate me for any award you feel is merited. Your invitation to guest post for you was really appreciated. In no way do I think I’m an ‘inspiring’ blogger so I’m not hurt at all. If there’s an award for a RANTING blogger, though… 🙂

I thought about starting all over with a new blog, especially since I don’t really have a true niche. In the end, I have two years of angst, mistakes, arguments, rants, etc. right here.
That’s what I call character, my friend. Our blogs are reflections of us, and that will be appealing to someone else out there, no matter how dark you think you’re getting. I know. Been there, done that.
We’ll see what other awards are floating around out there. I had a bunch, but after a while, displaying them seemed haughty. A few are okay. A bunch is just pretentious!
