Man, I’m really upset. I thought that I’d be divorced by now, but turns out Legal Aide is backed up for months and months. I turned in

my tax returns and asked for my maiden name back a long time ago, and I’m still no where nearer to being set free as I was all those months ago. I just checked my messages from this week, and turns out, Legal Aide can’t even find my paperwork. So, all this time I’ve been patiently waiting for them to call, they weren’t even working on the stupid thing. Well, you get what you pay for, right?
Do you think Santa can help with this? I’m changing my request. It looks like I’m just going to have to suck it up and pay a real lawyer to get this thing done!
Really, Legal Aide? Really?

Ugh. It is an uncontested divorce, no children, and no assets, thanks to the length of time they took and Chef’s penchant for pawning our property for drug money. How long can it possibly take?!

it can take months. I don’t know about your state, but here in Indiana, if it is uncontested, being the key word, you can file yourself. i did, mine was uncontested, no property, no arguing over the kids, and it cost me 145.00 to file and i was sent the divorce in the mail and never even went to a court room!!! check it out!!!!call your city clerk’s office

Wow! I will! I thought about doing that, but then I thought of the old adage, a fool who represents herself…yada yada. Still, I can’t mess it up more than Legal Aide, can I???

the differences are legal aide gets involved with every aspect of you and Chefs life. Filing yourself, u don’t need an attorney or anyone butting in on your business. Here in Indiana after I filed, I was divorced in sixty days. With legal aide it is when they get to your case
