Now For Some Real Excitement…

Sorry I have missed a few days of posting, but life has settled into a little routine for me now, and without all the drama to talk about, sometimes it is hard to know what to

Please note: Fish net stockings, short skirt, and a NY accent. ๐Ÿ™‚

write that would be interesting for you guys.

Today, I want to talk about living in a hotel. Of course, everyone knows I want my own home, and happily, I will be leaving the hotel soon. I found a place to stay that is safe, clean, and most importantly, unknown to anyone but me and my closest friends! ๐Ÿ™‚

But yesterday, I felt a little sad about leaving my hotel home. I’ve made friends with a lot of the staff here, and it will feel odd not to see them every day. Plus, they make me breakfast every morning…lol! They call it a continental breakfast, but I have a feeling they prepare it just for me. I guess I’ll have to go back to making my own coffee every morning. Bummer.

Last night, I went to the stockyards and watched a horse sale. I’ve always been interested in the cowboy culture and it was pretty fun to watch the horses. I kind of want a horse, but I know they are expensive, so that is just one of the things I’m going to add to my bucket list that Ivonne has talked me into creating.

As I was coming back in, one of the employees at the hotel who we will call Kayla, motioned me over and told me that 4 police officers with bullet proof vests on had gone upstairs to my floor and to call her and tell her what was going on. I hurried upstairs, hoping they weren’t here for me.. ย ๐Ÿ™‚ … and as I stepped off the elevator, there was no one in sight. ย So, I called Kayla to tell her nothing was going on that I could see.

Later, she came upstairs to my room, and told me the whole story. Turns out, the room right next door was being used for prostitution!! Talk about being unaware of your

Probably not a hooker, but can we really tell anymore? This picture makes me never want to run into this woman in a dark alley.

surroundings! I had no clue! I would just say good morning to the lady that would come out and get coffee each morning! I guess I figured prostitutes only wear fish net stockings and bodice blouses, smack gum, and all talk with a New York accent. LOL!

The hotel I’m staying at is one of most reputable places in town, and of course, don’t condone these kinds of activities in their establishment. But if the prostitutes in Tulsa are going to wear normal clothes and have the same southern accents all the rest of us do, they are going to be fighting a losing battle!!

Ya’ll have a good day, now, ya hear? LOL!!!! (Proof that I’m not a hooker.)

  1. Definitely proof!
But on a serious note.. I fear for the prostitutes in the area around my University because in their line of work, they are pretty much in dangerous situations every time they choose to go with a potential customer.
A few years ago.. Something awful happened where I go to University and now I just pray that even if they don’t (or can’t) leave prostitution that they are protected.. There are plenty of crazy people out there!
And this is not me condoning it.. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Oh, I know what you’re saying. I don’t condone it, nor do I want prostitutes hurt beyond what this profession is obviously going to do anyways. I feel bad for any woman who gets stuck in it. But the truth is, there are a lot of places here in Tulsa that women can get help getting out of this, but the lure of “easy” money or the victim mentality of these girls (and boys) seems to keep a lot of them in the profession. This lady just seemed like me…no place to go. Evidently other guests had been complaining about the number of people going in and out of her room all night long, but I, who was right next door, suspected nothing!

  2. i am so glad you are moving out of a ‘hotel’. While you made the best of it..it’s not really a place you want to be all the time….I would imagine not too much space to live in….an answer to prayer definitely…Hope the move goes well and is good for you…Take care …Diane

    • Thank you, Diane. It is just a temporary home for right now, but thank the Lord, the dogs have a yard to frolic in, and I can have a little bit of privacy now. I am being really blessed right now!!

  3. At LEAST you’re not 3 week post-partum like my old friend I told you about
I think many photos of the more private people look hard-lined because they are only sort of containing their ire at being photographed?

  4. Yes indeed they take volunteers ๐Ÿ™‚ Start calling around where you live as most equine farms are in great need of help. Volunteering is an excellent way to get your foot in the door and perhaps you will get pay next. Please keep me updated.

  5. You really had enough of your own stuff going on to notice what the neighbor was doing! haha! And I love the idea of you thinking of horses. My youngest goes for horse therapy, and I think I get blessed as much as she does! God bless you as you move. I think you will be leaving heart footprints wherever you go!

  6. Catherine, I am so glad you are getting a home and starting your bucket list. I remember one sermon of Rev. Michael B. Beckwith of Agape church in which he stated you take a baby step toward yoru dreams, a beginning a start. Well, that got me to thinking that my dream of living at the beach was doable. I used to think living at the beach meant having a mansion in Malibu (not gonna happen). So I started looing for apts close to the beach. In the meant time I started grad school in Long Beach—living in the valley meant lots of driving time on the freeway. So I decided it was time to move. Long story short–I have a modest 2 bedroom apt that is seven blocks from the beach. In the evening when I walk my dog I can smell the ocean from my front door. Im not on the beach yet but seven blocks sure is pretty close. You too will have your horse—I can feel it. Maybe lok into horse rescues where you “adopt” a horse–that way God knows you are serious about having a horse or volunteer where there are horses. I would like to add a boat to my bucket list.
