I know Andy Griffith died, and that is super sad news. I loved him in the Andy Griffith Show. He was a class act. But the real news these days is that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are getting divorced. Color me shocked.

Who can forget when Tom declared his love for Katie on the Oprah show?

Five years ago, things seemed just awesome in my marriage, but for the extra insurance, I asked Chef to jump on the couch, declaring his love for me.
This was his response:

Personally, I think he should have just done it…we’d probably not be where we are now….
Unable to get Chef to jump on the couch, I decided to investigate Scientology to see if it was the way to go. It wasn’t. It is a religion based on a science fiction story. There was no way Chef or I could take it seriously. He told me he’d rather go Heaven’s Gate.

And Chef’s preference:

Chef decided he didn’t want us to look anything like Tom and Katie. I wonder why….

The happy news about all this is that while Tom and Katie have called it quits, Chef and I have not. We’re doing really good these last few days. I’m making no earth-shattering decisions, and I’m wary, but I think it is fair to say that the attitude around this place has changed, and I, for one, am thankful to the Lord for helping us both out.
Things have felt like this:

I’m really happy right now. I love my job… I love the work that I do. I love that I stay busier than I can barely stand, and I’m happy that Chef thinks he wants his marriage to stay in tact, and is willing to work on it. He’s done pretty great the last couple of days. I’m cautiously optimistic.
Hopefully, I will have time to write a serious post this weekend. I know you guys miss my angst!!!
Happy Fourth of July!!! Don’t blow off any fingers!!

Thank you, Faithful! I have a hard time taking actor/actress marriages all that seriously. I know they have marriages just the same as everyone else, but since they always seem to go bottom up, I am never surprised when they do. Chef and I are doing ok…God never lets me down! Thank you for all your kind words!

l ron hubbard was a 2nd rate sci-fi writter who wanted to find a way to evade taxes… he created ‘scientology’ as a religion for the tax-exempt status. he wanted to evade death and hell, but he found out the hard way God’s alot harder to fool than the IRS. now that katie is bolting for the doors to escape the nuthouse, i pray that she is able to find Jesus for who He is and what He has done on the cross.

When it comes to religions, don’t you just find that one the stupidest ever? I know that isn’t nice, but I can’t help it. I agree. Hubbard was not a good writer. His books make my eyes bleed. Starting a religion based on that garbage is insane. I hope Katie finds the real Lord…I imagine this is even more painful for her since everybody and God gets to watch her divorce. 😦

Bird, I am glad that things are getting better. I have to believe that prayer works. But we can’t let our guard down… we will not allow Satan to come back with fear, doubt and unbelief. Taking one day, one step at a time! 🙂

This was hilarious! I am yet to research scientology, but I have to say, the moment I heard the news anchor say that it was created by a science-fiction author, I’ve been looking at dubiously. And they say we Christians are cookie for our beliefs 😉 LOl!! I’m really happy that things have been going great for you guys, and hey, maybe you can ask him to jump on the couch as your Christmans gift (tell him it’s that or a Harley 😉 )

I hope that Tom isn’t depressed over he and Katie’s break up. You know, since depression doesn’t exist.
I am glad that you guys are hanging in there. .
