My Motorcycle Accident

It is pretty late, and I’ve really enjoyed my vacation here. Tomorrow, I head back home to Oklahoma and pick up where I left off. I will get to say good-bye to my Dad, and I have his firm promise to come up and see me in my own environment in a week or two. I’d say the whole experience is a “WIN”.

The weather is horrible right now — cold, rainy, and just plain miserable. This kind of weather makes me nervous, and it always reminds me of my motorcycle accident in 2005.

Yes. We look this cool on our motorcycle.

On June 11, 2005, I was involved in a multi-vehicle accident. Several motorcycles hit a van that turned left in front of us. We were going 50mph and we hit that van like flies on a windshield. Two of us were hurt so severely, we had to be taken in helicopters to the hospital.

The details of this experience are fodder for another post someday, but my point today is that I appreciate this blogging stuff. I think of it as a collection of my life. When the Lord sees fit to take me home someday, I want my family to be able to read these words I’ve written and remember me as I was alive. Hopefully, that won’t be for a really long time, and by then I hope to have to be paying for extra space on this thing.

In the meantime, I am going to enjoy each minute of each day, and document the trip all along the way….

Kids,…. I love you. Always have….(in my best Mel Gibson voice)

Love,

Mom
